As part of our range of rubber manufacturing solutions, we offer a comprehensive compression moulding service we offer at Broadoak.
Compression moulding requires taking pre formed, pre prepared rubber which is then loaded into a tool and then closing the two halves of the tool together. Once in the press, the pressure to the tooling compresses the two halves together which then forces the rubber into the shape of the moulding.
After the predefined cure time, the press is opened and the two parts of the tool are split open leaving the moulded part or parts to be removed from the tool. Quite often these parts will also require an extra process of trimming off any excess material called flash.
